Cookies Policy
Rides.je is in beta and we’ve kept the cookie situation deliberately simple. We don’t run third-party advertising trackers, we don’t sell cookie data, and we don’t bury you under a consent wall every time you visit. Here’s the full list of what we set and why.
Essential cookies
These are needed for the site to work. They’re set when you sign in and remember that you’re logged in.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in. | Session / 30 days |
| authjs.csrf-token | Protects sign-in forms from cross-site forgery. | Session |
| authjs.callback-url | Remembers where to send you after a sign-in. | Session |
Analytics — cookieless
We run our own pageview counter so we can see what people use. It’s deliberately cookieless: every pageview just records the path and a timestamp. We don’t store IPs, set tracking cookies, or fingerprint your browser. If our hosting layer tells us the visitor’s country, we save that two-letter code with the pageview, and that’s it.
Third-party cookies
Currently, none. We don’t embed ad networks, social-media pixels, or analytics SDKs. If that ever changes (e.g. we add a payments provider that sets its own cookie at checkout), we’ll list it here and ask for consent up front.
Local storage
A few features use your browser’s local storage to remember things between visits — for example, the last filters you applied on the listings page, or whether you’ve dismissed a banner. This data stays on your device; it’s never sent to us.
Turning cookies off
Your browser’s cookie settings will block ours like any others. Disabling the essential cookies will mean you can’t sign in — the rest of the site (browsing, searching, enquiring as a guest) will keep working.
